Tandy enjoying a nice shower, after a rainy day in the mud outside!
We were looking for some new experiences for Tandy last week. So we took him to a restaurant and bowling! It was my son's 9th birthday and so those are the things he wanted to do, and Tandy is part of the family now so he came along. I was not sure about the restaurant, but he was fine, lay on the floor mostly beside us while we ate. He was excited at first at the bowling alley but then realized after a couple minutes its just another place to lay down! He slept there actually amongst the noise of balls and pins being knocked over.

I think the most important thing a service dog has to learn to do is to do nothing. So many people think the dogs work all the time, where in truth they spend most of their time lying at their partner's feet calmly resting (even if it is resting in weird places like a bowling alley). It sounds like Tandy is well on his way to achieving that goal. :)
ReplyDeleteyes that is true! i always tell people he is working right now and he is laying somewhere sleeping..when he lays on a gym floor with balls and kids running all around him and he doesn't even wince, i know he will be amazing and do great things for someone!!
